From York to Scotland

After our full English Breakfast in York, it was "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" to Thirsk. Earl drove well in spite of his wide-eyed passengers gasping at the narrow roads, with "soft verges" (shoulders). Soon we arrived in Thirsk where the real James Herriot (Alf Wight) practiced as a vet and finally wrote "All Creatures Great and Small". We watched this every Saturday night for years. His house and clinic is now wonderful museum of his life.

Mrs. Pomfrey and Tricki-Woo await the vet.
