London Tue April 17

Day 2 we headed off overland on double decker red bus to the Tower

The Tower Bridge which we are soon to walk over.

Photo above and subsequent will be of the Tower...so much more than a tower but a complete fortress first built by William the Conquerer.  Other buildings, chapel, residences and walls were added over time, including Anne Boleyn's house (it took 4 years to complete, unfortunately, she was queen for only 3...) We had a tour with a witty Beafeater, then saw the crown jewels and armaments worn by kings of England.  Photos to follow.

 

Our next stop was a wonderful pub near the Theatre district. We saw a Noel Coward comedy, Hay Fever, in a packed house on a Tuesday.
